2020 Census in Grenada County

CENSUS 2020.jpg

To date, most households have received some Census communication by mail. The mailing invites the household to respond by mailing in a paper questionnaire; by calling and responding on the phone; or by going online to complete the survey. However, not all households have received mailings, for example, those who only receive mail at a post office box. To reach these households, Census Enumerators leave a Census questionnaire at the physical Location of the dwelling. It's a process called Update Leave, and it is a safe, contactless practice.

Due to safety precautions, Census activity in the field had been delayed, but preparations are being made to safely return to the operation by using this contactless option. This way, residents in those areas will have the chance to begin responding. Based on a review of the supervisors maps, it appears that staff will be in parts of Districts 3, 4, and 5. Census takers will be carrying black Census bags and identification. Since they will be in the community for drop-offs, I am sharing this notice. Again, to ensure safety, they do not come into contact with the homeowner.
